20 Service Projects for 2 Year Olds

Teaching children the importance of service is best done through hands on experiences. Two years old might seem young, but it is actually the perfect time to introduce your child to community service. Here is a list of 20 service projects that your 2 year old can participate in.

  1. Host a charity drive play date and have friends bring over items to donate to a special cause
  2. Decorate cards to put on the walls at retirement homes, hospitals, and children homes

3. Help clean up a local park

4. Visit a retirement home and hang out with the residents

5. Decorate cookies and treats to bring to a friend

6. Collect money for a cause

7. Paint rocks and leave them around town for other kids to find

8. Donate clothes they have outgrown and toys they no longer play with to a charity

9. Make bird feeders

10. Support your local Specials Olympics by attending an event

11. Plant trees and flowers

  4. These are great and fun ways to teach kids kindness, empathy and volunteering. When my son was 8th we had everyone bring school uniforms to donate instead of a birthday present. We got way more uniforms than we expected. My son was happy he could contribute and help kids in need. The kids in these pictures are the real life superheroes.
